A Corner of the Universe: Marvel Super Hero Island

You've heard of Hidden Mickeys, but how about Hidden Adams? Let's hop in the FantastiCar and fly over to Marvel Super Hero Island for a closer look at one of the lesser-known details of IOA.

We're heading to the left this time.
Getting closer...
One of the visual themes on Marvel Super Hero Island is the larger-than-life 2-D cutouts of some of the greatest heroes and most devious villains in the Marvel Alternaverse. Renowned comic book artist Adam Kubert was tasked with creating the original artwork that was blown up and mounted all over the island. Unlike on the cover of a comic book, these heroes and villans would be free-standing, and there wouldn't be an appropriate place to sign the artwork. So what did Adam do? He found a way to "hide" his signature in the drawings. Here are a few examples.

Magneto.
"Adam" is hidden vertically on the right side of Magneto's collar. It's easier to read if you turn it sidways (inset right).

That one was hard... How about an easy one?

Captain America (this one is the most obvious).
This is the most obvious signature on the island.
Wolverine (we couldn't get the signature in a wide shot, so don't give yourself a headache searching).

This time, "Adam" is sideways on Wolverine's boot. Again, it's easier to read if you turn it (inset left).

Professor Xavier.

Here "Adam" is integrated into the bottom "shine" mark.

The Kingpin (who is being unusually generous with his arcade tokens).

Another sideways signature in the wrinkles between his thumb and forefinger. Again, turning it makes it more obvious (inset right).

There are many other oversized images displayed across the island. Next time you're at IOA, take some time to try and find the rest of the "Hidden Adams."
